Waterloo Region Down Syndrome Society Mothers' Connection

Mothers' Connection

As part of our new parent support program, we created the Mothers' Connection group.  This group of mothers with children with Down syndrome between the ages of birth to 6 years meets each Wednesday afternoon.  Our mothers have found this opportunity to be an incredibly supportive experience where they can share their unique hopes, fears and goals for their families. They also share a lot of very practical information and occasionally have speakers come in to educate them.  During this time their children get to attend preschool in an inclusive setting. We know that as parents of a child with Down syndrome, that support from other parents has been paramount and we would like to ensure that new parents are able to join our Mothers' Connection as soon as they are ready. If you are a mom of a child with Down syndrome from birth to 6 years and you would like more information regarding joining our Mothers' Connection, please contact Cherie Blair by clicking here

Dear Parent
This survey has been developed as part of a study supported by the Waterloo Region Children and Youth Services Planning Council (CYSPC) to complete a review of the process and experience of accessing services for vulnerable children and youth in Waterloo Region.
The Council's mission is to...
"...plan for, promote and continually improve a local system of services and supports for vulnerable children, youth and their families."
The study is called the Integrated Access to Services Project. It is designed to gather feedback on what is working for families seeking, and connecting to services. The main objective of the project is to look for ways to build a system that is welcoming, easy to navigate, well coordinated and efficient!
The Council is very committed to gathering your views and wishes to thank you in advance for completing the survey.

Follow the link to complete the survey.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/surveytoparents If you know of any other parent with experience accessing services please forward this email and suggest they fill out the survey. Every experience is a valuable experience!
The final summarized information gathered during the project will be written in a final report forwarded to the Council. The final report will be posted on the Waterloo Region Family Network website by end of June 2012. http://www.waterlooregionfamilynetwork.com Many Thanks!
