Suicide — it’s a topic too disturbing and raw for most people to discuss. For some, it’s a cultural taboo filled with an underlying fear that talking about it will increase the chances someone at risk will attempt it.
Identifying Trends and Supports for Students with ASD

There are 5,800 students identified with ASD currently in Ontario’s publicly funded secondary schools. School staff expect that approximately 1,100 of these students will seek to enter college or university between 2009 and 2011.

The Coalition has been established to provide a connection between the AACs, and to share experiences, achievements and problem solving. It also allows for the development of a consensus on matters of primary concern and the opportunity to reflect to the legislators what is really required at the grass roots level to serve and meet the needs of persons with disabilities. The Coalition is, in other words, a clearinghouse and an instrument for action.
