Service Pathway for Children 0-6 Years in Waterloo Region
Sat, May 22nd, 2010
As of May 2010, Region of Waterloo Public Health, in partnership with community agencies, has produced an updated Referral List and created a new Service Pathway to accompany the Referral List.
The Referral List is an introduction to programs and services in Waterloo Region to which families with children 0-6 years of age may be referred when there are child development or parental supports required. The Referral List is organized by "presenting concern" followed by the key agency or agencies to contact and includes a brief description of the program, phone number and a website if available. Presenting concerns include autism, breastfeeding, counselling, hearing, immunization, speech/language and vision.
The new Service Pathway is a companion document to the Referral List. It provides a visual representation of most of the agencies on the Referral List and the pathway that is typically followed from developmental screening to identification of primary concern(s) to intervention/treatment.
